This afternoon Cllr Meller, J. & myself visited the brand new Stockport Central Fire Station on King Street West and was shown around by Station Manager Carl Petch.

It's an incredibly well built, modern public building that reflects the need of personnel stationed there who are ready to continue to service and protect the people of Central Stockport & beyond.

It's due to go online at 10am on Friday 11th September. A community open day will take place in a few months.

This is a good day for Edgeley & Cheadle Heath and I take some credit for doing the hard yards on ensuring we got a new fire station when the plans first came about that the old Station was to close permanently.
