The Community Fund

Every time someone joins or renews their ECA membership, 50% of their fee goes straight into the Community Fund. It exists for one reason: to put money back into Edgeley and Cheadle Heath, behind the local causes and organisations that make this place what it is.

This is members' money, not the committee's, so members decide together how it's spent.

How it's decided

Anyone can put an idea forward, a local group that needs a hand, a project that's never quite got off the ground, or something small that would make a genuine difference. Ideas go forward to a public meeting, where they're discussed properly and voted on by members.

What it's paid for

Rose Walker Centre redecorated

For the Community Fund's first major project, in 2025, local volunteers gave the Rose Walker Centre in Cheadle Heath Park a fresh new look.

Castle Street defibrillator

In 2023, the fund contributed to a local business's fundraiser for a defibrillator on Castle Street, helping bring a potentially life-saving device to the district centre.

The fund grows with every member. The more we have, the bigger the pot, and the more of these we can take on each year.
