How do we plan for the future of Stockport?

The local plan has now reached the Regulation 19 consultation stage. This is the final opportunity to comment before the plan is submitted for examination by an independent Planning Inspector.

The consultation runs from 23 September to 8 November.

At this stage, we're asking for comments on whether the plan is legally compliant and sound. That means considering whether it has been prepared correctly, is supported by evidence, can be delivered effectively and is consistent with national planning policy.

If you're making a comment, please:

- tell us which policy, site, map or section you're commenting on
- say whether your comments relate to legal compliance or soundness
- explain what you support or object to, and why
- tell us what changes you'd like to see
- use evidence or local knowledge where possible
