🚉 A new business bay for Shaw Heath

We’ve approved a new business bay on Shaw Heath/King Street West, right by the Edgeley entrance to Stockport Railway Station.

We’ve been pushing for better amenities around the station, including asking for the shuttered shop on Platforms 3/4 to be tendered to a community business.
Unfortunately, we were told that the shop is intended for storage.

So rather than wait, we’ve taken the opportunity to do something ourselves.

The new business bay will give a local entrepreneur the chance to trade right where thousands of railway passengers pass every day, bringing a bit more life and activity to the station entrance while supporting a local business.

It’s a small change, but it’s exactly the sort of practical improvement we want to see around Edgeley and Shaw Heath.

More local businesses. More activity. Better use of our public spaces. 🚂
