Councillor Asa Caton, one of the ECA's founding councillors, announced his intention to stand again for the Edgeley Ward in a video address:

Good morning, everyone. Councillor Asa Caton of the Edgeley Community Association here, coming to you from the ECA group offices at Stockport Town Hall. I'm pleased to confirm that at nine AM this morning, I submitted my nomination papers to stand again as your local councillor for the Edgeley Ward. And I hope to be able to continue to represent the residents and businesses of Edgeley and Cheadle Heath. Local elections are going to take place on Thursday the 2nd of May, and my name will appear as your Edgeley Community Association candidate.

I am so proud of the work that the ECA has put in over the last twelve months, and I'm asking you to put your trust in the ECA again. There is a number of significant developments happening in, on, and around Edgeley and Cheadle Heath over the coming years, such as the replacement of the Army roundabout and increasing capacity at Edgeley Park. And along with Councillor Wynne and Councillor Taylor, I would like to continue to represent you to the best of my ability.

Over the next few weeks, you will receive my election address, which contains details of our success in Edgeley Ward, and an update on our six-point plan, which you gave us a mandate to address last May. I'd like to thank you for your continued support.
